LETTER: Wessel-Kroeschell will fight for ISU
October 24, 2004
As spring semester is nearing and students are getting ready to write that fat check to Iowa State for their tuition and fees, we can’t help but wonder, when are these double-digit tuition increases ever going to end?
Students just out of college are experiencing huge amounts of debt due to the amount of student loans we are forced to take out.
Before you contemplate selling your soul on eBay, listen up: There is something you can do. Beth Wessel-Kroeschell, candidate for Iowa House District 45, which includes most ISU students, wants to make it her priority to increase Iowa State’s budget and help make higher education affordable for all students.
Wessel-Kroeschell realizes that students are a valuable resource for Ames and doesn’t want our quality of education to be compromised because of budget cuts and our inability to afford school.
I believe Wessel-Kroeschell is the best candidate to represent students in the Iowa House, and she has the experience, leadership skills and motivation to make things happen for students at Iowa State. Finally, there is a candidate who’s on our side.
