LETTER: Moore visit wrong use of student fees
October 12, 2004
Why must the Michael Moore infatuation enter Iowa State when he has already saturated the media? Iowa State is losing sight of the education goals to enhance and broaden students’ perspectives by supporting and paying for an unbalanced representation of political ideas.
College is a place for students to expand their knowledge and opinions, but people like Moore are pushing their own thoughts onto others without representing the facts correctly. Balanced representation is expensive, but unbalanced representation, along with false facts and lies, comes at too great a cost.
I am outraged that part of the student fee I pay is supporting a one-sided political figure. If he wants to come here and support his beliefs, that’s another issue, but Iowa State should not pay him. Moore is what is wrong with America.
