LETTER: Mosiman’s mistakes silence ISU voters
October 25, 2004
Story County Auditor Mary Mosiman said that Thursday’s satellite voting problems won’t be repeated. She fails to mention that what happened Thursday was a repeat.
Students were turned away on each day satellite voting was offered, yet the problem was not addressed. It took denying 100 people the right to vote, an infraction serious enough to gain the condemnation of the Secretary of State, to bring attention to the problem she has made repeatedly throughout her term.
Mosiman has had almost four years to learn proper voting procedure. We can not afford to keep an auditor whose repeated “honest mistakes” and “learning experiences” have turned away countless voters.
