LETTER: Love America like your predecessors
September 26, 2004
What is wrong with America today? All we seem to care about is money and our own well being.
Sixty years ago, brave American men sacrificed their lives and youth to rid the world of evil.
They knew what it took to bring other people freedom. I think that today, we as Americans do not comprise that same sacrifice.
For our own sake, I hope I am wrong. As Americans we cannot forget what happened to us on that sunny, calm September morning.
America was attacked by evil, and I support anybody — Republican or Democrat — that will do everything possible to fight back, with or without the United Nations. We must put away our petty differences and concentrate on ridding the world of evil. Thus making the world safer for our children, just like my grandfathers did for me 60 years ago.
