LETTER: Prestemon avoids logic in Iraq debate

In response to Dean Prestemon’s Sept. 7 letter, I must point out that at no point does Mr. Prestemon make any argument. He merely tries to intimidate readers into agreeing with him.

Allow me to explain. The article is merely a series of statements that are intended to point out what Mr. Prestemon considers wrong with the president’s policies.

Rather than argue against any particular policy, he merely implies, for example, that anybody who wants to keep a greater portion of their earned income is compassionless.

According to his reasons, anybody who supports the war in Iraq must be a coldhearted person who doesn’t care if civilians die, regardless of the fact that Saddam has killed far more Iraqis than the United States has.
