LETTER: Coaches’ works make a difference
July 21, 2004
Center For Addictions Recovery Inc. recently received notification that a portion of the proceeds from the Larry Eustachy-Tim Floyd basketball camp in Boone would be donated to our agency.
On behalf of our clients, staff and Board of Directors, we would like to express our thanks.
Both Larry Eustachy and Tim Floyd were successful basketball coaches at Iowa State University, and it is heartening to know that both of them wanted to come back and give back to our community. This will be an experience that the young people who participated in the camps will long remember. It was good for the kids, good for the community and good for Iowa State University fans who followed the Cyclones during the Floyd and Eustachy years.
This generous donation from the basketball camps will assist those struggling with alcohol and drug addiction in their journey to recovery. One of the hallmarks of successful recovery is to reach out and give to others, not just with financial help but also with support, time and energy to improve the quality of the lives of others.
CFARI is grateful for the generosity and trust put in our agency by these two coaches. It demonstrates good works that make a difference.
