Letters to the editor: Preaching Hate
September 18, 2000
I hate you. Got your attention? I don’t say that too often. I probably don’t mean it, but for the moment it works. After all, if we don’t truly mean it, it doesn’t count. Does it? I hate how your voice bounces off the library because it’s the way you want it to happen. I hate what you’re saying. I refuse to comprehend what your saying. This makes me happy because it’s exactly what you don’t want to happen. I hate what you’re saying because of how you say it. You’re so sure of yourself, absolutely content with your faith. Deep down I envy you, but right now, I just hate. So you make us hear you. We don’t have a choice. I live without being heard, and I have to listen to you whenever I want to go to the library. There are two types of preachers. Those who say “you all sin” and those who say “we all sin.” If you say it one way, I will feel humble. If you say it the other, it makes me hate you. Noah Banwarth
