Sports bias

To the editor:

I am writing in regard to two letters published in the Tuesday, March 21, edition of the Daily by Thomas Jurik and Joseph Schaefer. I agree with their observations of the Daily’s bias toward certain sports.

I am not trying to belittle the men’s and women’s basketball teams accomplishments, they have worked very hard to get to where they are.

However, there are many other teams that work just as hard.

Although the gymnastics and wrestling do eventually get coverage, there are teams that receive little or no coverage.

The men’s hockey team for one. The last six games received no mention. A shame for a team that was ranked much of the season, finishing No. 5. Not only were the regular seasons ignored, but the American Collegiate Hockey Association tournament, as well. The team went to Minot, N.D., gave it all they had, and came out with a respectable No. 7 in the conference.

“Go Cyclones” … ALL of them.
