I grew furious when I read Aaron Woell’s column Wednesday.

I apologize if you feel that steps in our legislature that clean our environment, create more horsepower and better our economy offend you. I thought these were good things.

Ethanol does produce more waste per unit than gasoline, but it does not produce CFCs, the chemical composition that depletes the Ozone Layer. Ethanol does have a higher combustion in the piston chamber.

Haven’t you ever noticed that Ethanol blends have a higher octane level?

Do you have no respect for the people who allow this nation to have the most inexpensive food? California is already taking these steps, so why can’t we? I hope you think more in your next article.
