The Iowa State women’s basketball team didn’t need long Wednesday night to crack the game open against TCU.

The Cyclones (13-2, 3-0 Big 12) kept their winning streak going in a 92-54 win over TCU at Hilton Coliseum, equaling the best start in Big 12 play since 2014-15.

Iowa State scored first and never trailed, leading by as many as 23 points in the second quarter. The Cyclones started the second quarter on a 22-3 run before TCU hit shots to close out the half strong. Iowa State led 38-20 at halftime.

Six Cyclones scored in the first half, with nobody scoring more than senior forward Meredith Burkhall’s eight points. Bridget Carleton had seven, three players (Kristin Scott, Ashley Joens and Alexa Middleton) had six apiece, and Madi Wise finished the half with five points.

Carleton had her usual big game. She finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Joens finished with 22 points and nine rebounds. Kristin Scott finished with 12 points (5-of-5 shooting) and six rebounds.
