Physical therapy classes

Daily Staff Writer

In honor of National Physical Therapy Month, Iowa State’s Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy Center will sponsor a special clinic to teach people how to properly lift weights, stretch, tone muscles and train for endurance.

This year’s theme is “Physical Therapy for Healthy Living.”

The center and the Lied Recreation/Athletic Facility are hosting free exercise clinics on Sunday, Oct. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m., and Wednesday, Oct. 22, from noon to 1 p.m.

All sessions will be held on the third floor of the recreation center and are open to all ISU students, faculty, staff and anyone who has a Lied facility membership.

The Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy Center, located in the rec center, is open to all ISU students, faculty and staff. Health insurance covers a majority of the cost, and ISU students receive a 20 percent discount. A physicians referral is needed for an appointment.
