Iowa State: Brock Purdy, (QB)

This may seem like an obvious, boring pick. There’s no doubt Purdy will play a pivotal role in any game the Cyclones play.

But what will be interesting to see is how he responds after one of his worst games as a Cyclone against Iowa last week. He was 13 of 27 for under 200 yards, but the most startling statistic was his three interceptions.

If Purdy takes care of the ball and is able to make plays through the air consistently, Iowa State should have no problem winning this game in Las Vegas.

UNLV: Charles Williams, (RB)

UNLV is 0-2 on the young season, but Charles Williams has put up some solid numbers to start the year.

Williams has 212 rushing yards in two games, with two scores to go along with. This is the sixth year Williams has played for the Rebels, his cumulative rushing stats are impressive: 587 carries, 3,152 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Iowa State prides itself on being able to stop the run, so UNLV’s success on offense will be determined greatly by Williams’ ability to run the football.
