Cyclone Hockey beat Alabama 4-2 in Saturday’s game.

After a first period dominated by the Cyclones, the score was tied 1-1 going into the first intermission.

Goals came from freshman forward Nick Rogers at 12:53 in the first, and Alabama’s Jacob Nau with just 59.4 remaining in the first.

The second period remained scoreless, despite two power play chances for Alabama and two breakaway chances for the Cyclones.

The Cyclones showed their strong penalty kill in the second, which included a shorthanded chance by senior forward Tony Uglem that was robbed by the Alabama netminder, Patrick Ostermann.

Despite great goaltending on both sides, the third period proved to be much more offensive.

After Alabama took the lead with 8:32 left in the game, the Cyclones surged back with goals from freshman forward C.J. Banser and sophomore forward Dylan Goggin.

Senior defenseman Nick Sandy sealed the deal with an empty net goal, ending in a 4-2 win.
