On Wednesday, Iowa State’s Bridget Carleton was named to the Cheryl Miller Award watchlist.

The award is given to the nation’s top small forward in women’s basketball.

This isn’t Carleton’s first time being linked to the Cheryl Miller Award, as Carleton was a finalist for the award in the 2017-18 season.

This is the only the second year of the award existing, with the first winner being the University of Connecticut’s Gabby Williams.

Williams averaged 11.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists in her senior season when she won the award.

Williams played on a UConn team which finished the season 36-1.

Last season as a junior, Carleton averaged 19.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists. Carleton lead Iowa State in several statistical categories such as points, rebounds and steals.

Iowa State finished 14-17 last season.

Despite a losing season from Iowa State, Carleton was named an Honorable Mention AP All-American and was a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 First Team.

Carleton has already been named a to the preseason All-Big 12 First Team.
