Iowa State to travel to Illinois and Wisconsin in same weekend

Long weekend ahead for Iowa State cross country.

The Iowa State women’s cross country team with travel to Peoria, Ill. Friday, October12. Following the Bradley Pink Classic the men and women will travel to Madison Wisconsin on Saturday, October 13 for Pre-Nationals.

The Iowa State men’s team may not be traveling to the Bradley Pink Classic due to the impressive performance they put on at the Nuttycombe. The Iowa State men’s team came in fourth place out of 34 teams, the women placed in ninth. This was the best performance in the cross country program at Iowa State. The coaching staff are reluctant to travel because they do not want to risk injury to the runners, the men are currently all healthy, which is something new to the season. The coaching staff want the runners to be healthy and ready for the upcoming Big 12 championship which will be held later this month.

Both teams are looking to follow their success this week after their impressive performance at the Wisconsin Nuttycombe invitational.

The men’s team is currently ranked fourth in the nation, while the women are ranked sixteenth.

Assistant Coach of the men’s cross country team Jeremy Sudbury is looking forward to the long weekend ahead and is excited to see what the Cyclones can do.

After this long weekend the Cyclones will go onto the Big 12 Championships which will be held locally here in Ames, on October 26 at 10 a.m. inside Lied Rec Center.
