For the second-consecutive week and second time this season, redshirt junior libero Hali Hillegas took home Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Hillegas won the award Monday after registering 67 digs in three games this past weekend. Fifty-five of those digs came during the Bluejay Invitational in games against Creighton and Wichita State. The Wichita State game was Hillegas’ third 30-dig game of the season.

This is the eighth time in her career Hillegas has won Big 12 Defensive Player Week, which moves her ahead of former-Cyclone Caitlin Nolan for fourth-most in Big 12 history.

Hillegas currently leads the Big 12 with 5.78 digs per set, which also puts her at No. 14 in the NCAA.
