Over the past few weeks, the Student Government Finance Committee has been reviewing budget requests for student organizations and services through the Annual Allocation Process.
“We spent a lot of time on this,” Sen. Jonathan Nevenhoven, a senior in accounting, said. “It went really well, it was great to meet a lot of clubs.”
The annual allocations bill is one of the primary functions of Student Government; they receive revenue from the student activity fee to allocate funding to student organizations and services. Organizations that receive funding meet with the Finance Committee to review a proposed budget. The Finance Committee then amends the proposed budget before recommending allocations to the Senate.
