Wondering about the deadline for program completion? Graduating seniors can still apply until the last day of the term.
Abbie Suntken, a registrar specialist for the Office of The Registrar, said veterinary medicine and undergraduate students should be reaching out to [email protected] to let them know they forgot to apply.
“We can work with them to see if they meet all requirements and ultimately get them their degree at that point,” Suntken said.
According to Suntken, graduate students have an earlier deadline and need to reach out to the graduate office to inquire about their next steps in program completion if they missed it.
For undergrads and veterinary medicine, the Office of the Registrar reviews all students for program completion and makes sure all their requirements are met prior to conferral. The Graduate College reviews all grad students for program completion prior to conferral,” Suntken said.
Suntken said it only takes about five to 10 minutes to apply.
“There’s an application itself where a student indicates their name that they would like to display like on a program or on their diploma [and] confirming what programs of study that the student is applying for,” Suntken said. “Once they submit the application, then they get a couple extra to do steps in Workday.”
Suntken said these steps include diploma delivery information, whether they want it mailed or picked up, indicating their hometown they would like in the commencement program and reporting post-graduation plans.
Furthermore, students can access the RSVP system once they’ve applied for program completion.
“If the application is for the current term, future term commencements are not open for those students at this time,” Suntken said. If they do not have access to the RSVP system for any reason, they can reach out to [email protected] and we can assist them with their questions. “Typically we do still allow them to walk,” Suntken said.
“All of the information, we do try to put on the website for our students, families and guests,” Suntken said.
