AMES — Giving back and being a part of the central Iowa community isn’t uncommon for Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht.
The redshirt junior hosted a youth camp in Perry last year and donated Xbox One Series X systems to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames a couple of weeks ago.
Now, Becht is bringing his youth football camp back, this time in Ankeny. The camp is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Ankeny High School for children ages 6 to 16.
The event was made possible with help from FlexWork, which, according to their company bio, is a premier event management and sports marketing firm specializing in the organization of youth sports camps led by professional and collegiate athletes.
Becht’s event, while still focusing on football, is a time for the community to come out to play, learn and interact with Becht, local coaches and each other.
Activities at the camp will include lectures, skill stations and contests. Awards will also be up for grabs throughout the day for campers.
Campers are encouraged to bring cleats and gym shorts and each participant will receive a camp team photo with Becht, a limited edition Rocco Becht FlexWork Football Camp t-shirt and items from event sponsors.
Ticket prices for the event range from $100 to $250, with a purchase deadline up until the start of the camp at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Becht is set to return to Iowa State for the 2025-26 football season after leading the Cyclones to their first 10-win season in program history, a spot in the Big 12 Championship and a win in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
