The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication at Iowa State University announced plans to partner with KCCI to broadcast the 2025 Aer Lingus College Football Classic on Aug. 23.
According to the press release, a select group of student journalists and faculty will travel to Dublin, Ireland, to cover the Iowa State vs Kansas State football game.
“The Greenlee School works to connect our students with the media profession,” Dr. Michael Dahlstrom, Director of the Greenlee School, said. “This partnership with KCCI provides an exciting new opportunity for these students to network and build their portfolio based on their work from these study abroad experiences.”
Select pieces will appear on KCCI 8 newscasts and digital channels, giving central Iowa unique insights and perspectives from across the Atlantic.
“KCCI is excited to partner with students nd staff from the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communications,” KCCI News Director Natalie Cabieses said. “Working with and helping train America’s future journalists is an important part of our mission as Iowa’s News Leader.”
The trip to Dublin is scheduled from Aug. 14 to Aug. 25. Stories will begin appearing on KCCI 8 News prior to the game.
