The Reiman Gardens Events Hall will host a Lily Show with flowers from all over Iowa and surrounding states. Lilies will be entered into a competition with a panel of judges coordinated through the Iowa Regional Lily Society.
The Lily Show is open for public attendance from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Emory Telios, the Reiman Gardens event coordinator for this event, shared the rules for the competition to any interested participants.
“Any lily grower may enter stems into the show,” Telios said. “Only true lilies (genus Lilium) may be entered. All lilies exhibited in competition must have been grown outdoors without protection and under the supervision of the exhibitor. Entries are accepted from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Judging will begin at 10 a.m.”
The competition day will begin with cleaning and preparing the lily stems and assembling floral designs. The winning lilies will be on display at the front of the room on the head table for visitors to see.
There will be a new feature to the show this year. A presentation from the Iowa Regional Lily Society called “Lily Basics” will be held at 2 p.m. for anyone interested in attending.
This year, there are three divisions, 50 classes and 20 awarded categories of lilies set to compete.
During the lily show, the Hughes Conservatory, “Picture Perfect” Exhibit, Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing and the gift shop will also be open for attendees to enjoy.
People of all ages are welcome to attend the Iowa Regional Lily Show at Reiman Gardens. The event is included in the cost of general admission and is free for members and Iowa State students with a valid ISU ID Card.
There is no registration required to attend the event.
