Iowa State’s stout defensive line will be without some depth on Saturday against South Dakota State.

On Monday, an Iowa State spokesperson announced via press release that redshirt senior defensive lineman Kamilo Tongamoa will be suspended for one game following an OWI arrest in January.

Tongamoa was not listed on the depth chart the Cyclones released Monday as a result of his suspension.

Tongamoa transferred to Iowa State after playing the 2016 season at Merced Community College.

The three-star junior college product struggled to find playing time in his first season in Ames.

Tongamoa played in four games, totaling one tackle. Outside of Tongamoa, the defensive line boasts a talented core of JaQuan Bailey, Ray Lima, Jamahl Johnson and Enyi Uwazurike.

Behind the starters, the unit will lean on Tongamoa, Matt Leo and others in the coming weeks.
