A few Cyclones produced some electric plays during Week 3 of the NFL season, including a special teams touchdown and an explosive rushing performance.
David Montgomery
Playing in prime time against the Baltimore Ravens, Montgomery exploded for the best game of his career in terms of rushing yards Monday night. Montgomery raced for 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 12 carries. His longest run went for 72 yards, the third-longest of his career.
Will McDonald IV
Although it was the second straight week where McDonald did not record a defensive stat, he made an acrobatic and athletic play that nearly won the game for the Jets. Down by six points with less than two minutes to play, McDonald leaped over an offensive lineman to block a field goal attempt, which he then picked up and brought back 50 yards for a touchdown. It was McDonald’s first career blocked kick and touchdown, but the Jets lost 29-27.
Darien Porter
Seeing time mainly on special teams for the Raiders’ first two games, Porter made a splash in Week 3 against the Commanders. Porter tallied his first four career tackles in the 41-24 loss.
Texans Receivers
Xavier Hutchinson led the way for the trio of former Cyclone receivers with three catches for 16. Jaylin Noel hauled in one catch for four yards, and Jayden Higgins had one catch for five yards.
Allen Lazard
Lazard logged his first stats of the 2025 NFL season in the Jets’ loss to the Buccaneers, hauling in two catches for 13 yards, one of which went for a touchdown.
Breece Hall
In nine carries, Hall only ran for 21 yards, but he had more production in the passing game. Hall caught four passes for 31 yards.
Eyioma Uwazurike
Uwazurike had his most productive game so far this season, logging four total tackles, 1.5 of which were considered “stuffs,” in the Broncos’ loss to the Chargers. He has nine total tackles on the year.
T.J. Tampa
Coming into Monday night with four total tackles on the season, Tampa nearly doubled his tackle total with three more against the Lions.
Charlie Kolar
Kolar was another Cyclone who logged his first stats of the season during Week 3. In the Ravens’ loss to the Lions, Kolar brought in two catches for 22 yards, one going for a first down.
