From the high-rises of Wallace and Wilson to the modern comforts of Geoffroy Hall, everyone seems to have a different idea of what makes the perfect place to live on campus. Students shared which dorm they think is the best, and what attributes stand out most.
For those who value modern amenities, Geoffroy Hall often tops the list. Zoey Zuck, a freshman in public relations, calls it the best on campus for its newer design and convenient location.
“I think the best dorm on campus is Geoffroy because it is the newest one,” Zuck said. “You have a close bus stop right outside, and it’s close to Greek life. The bathrooms and elevators are nice too.”
For freshman Megan Carlson, who is studying elementary education, the answer isn’t about the building itself — it’s about the people inside it.
“My hottest take is that Towers are the best dorms,” Carlson said. “For me, it doesn’t matter how bad the dorm is if you have the right people.”
Others prefer location over social life. Sophia Eckman, another freshman, majoring in marketing, said that Helser Hall wins simply because of its convenience.
“I say Helser because that’s where all my classes are,” Eckman said. “You can live with no air conditioning, just buy a good fan.”
Some students look for comfort and practicality. Freshman Chayse White, studying apparel merchandising and design, said Maple Hall offers the perfect balance between privacy and price.
“The best dorm on campus is Maple because it has the individual bathrooms as well as sinks in the rooms,” White said. “It’s also not as expensive as Geoffroy or Buchanan.”
