YMCA Capital City league action on Sunday night was much more subdued than the games from two weeks ago, but there were still plenty of highlights from Iowa State players.

Game one: MRG International 121, Hinterland 95

Talen Horton-Tucker continued to set Cap City ablaze, scoring at will and setting up his teammates early and often. Horton-Tucker finished just one assist shy of a triple double, gathering 33 points, nine assists and 14 rebounds on the night. On the defensive end, Horton-Tucker contributed three steals and four blocks as well.

Sophomore walk-on Eric Steyer had his best game of Cap City so far, hitting four 3-pointers and finishing with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Game two: Hannah Homes 112, Sparta Waste 95

With only six players – two of whom played for other teams as well Sunday night – Sparta Waste was at a disadvantage from the start.

It’s no surprise they fell to Hannah Homes despite a sterling effort from incoming freshman George Conditt. Conditt provided 30 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots, but it simply wasn’t enough.

Terrence Lewis paced Hannah Homes with a cerebral 25 points on 12-for-20 shooting. He chipped in seven rebounds and five assists as well.

Game three: Lions Club 119, Waukee-Clive Vet Clinic 97

It was yet another edition of the Haliburton and Jacobson show.

The incoming freshman and junior, respectively, carried Lions Club to another large margin of victory and firmly cemented themselves as playoff favorites.

The duo combined for 51 points, with Haliburton leading Lions Club with 28 points while Jacobson added 23 of his own.

Haliburton added 10 assists and four blocks. Jacobson owned the glass, grabbing 16 rebounds.

Zoran Talley Jr. did not play for Waukee-Clive Vet Clinic on Sunday night.
