The Iowa State Cyclones were defeated by the Wyoming Cowboys 4-3 this afternoon. 

During singles action, Maty Cancini had a huge win at the No. 1 spot, defeating three-time All-Mountain West Conference selection Magdalena Stencel, 6-3, 6-3. But the Cowboys would win at the No. 2 and No. 4 spot to take the lead 3-2 and leaving it up to the fifth and sixth spots to win the match.

Karen Alvarez got a win against Myiah Scott, 6-3, 6-2, to tie the team score at 3-3.

Unfortunately Annabella Bonadonna could not get a win against Ana Tkachenko losing 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Singles:

No. 1: Maty Cancini defeated Magdalena Stencel (UW), 6-3, 6-3.

No. 2: Regina Espindola was defeated by Milka Genkova (UW), 0-6, 4-6.

No. 3: Ekaterina Repina was defeated by Tessa van Der Ploeg (UW), 4-6, 7-5, 2-6.

No. 4: Margarita Timakova was defeated by Elisa Koonik (UW), 4-6, 7-6, 3-6.

No. 5: Annabella Bonadonna was defeated by Ana Tkachenko (UW) 6-4, 2-6, 1-6.

No. 6: Karen Alvarez defeated Myiah Scott (UW) 6-3, 6-2.

Doubles:

No. 1: Cancini/Espindola defeated van Der Ploeg/Koonik (UW), 6-1.

No. 2: Repina/Timakova were defeated by Stencel/Tkachenko (UW), 0-6.

No. 3: Alvarez/Bonadonna defeated Genkova/Scott (UW), 6-2.

The Cyclones will face UMKC Kangaroos on Thursday, March 15 in Kansas City, Missouri.
