Iowa State picked up its quarterback of the future today when three-star prospect Brock Purdy pledged his commitment to the Cyclones.

Purdy made his official announcement Wednesday morning. His decision came down to Iowa State and Texas A&M, but in the end, the Cyclones won out.

Purdy, who is listed at 6-foot-1 and nearly 200 pounds, had an impressive offer list. Schools such as Texas A&M, Alabama, Boise State and Central Florida had reportedly offered him scholarships.

The Gilbert, Arizona, native was ranked as the No. 36 pro-style quarterback in the class of 2018, per the 247Sports composite ranking.

He was also named Arizona’s Gatorade Player of the Year after his senior season.
