After signing 18 recruits for the class of 2018 yesterday in the early signing period, coach Matt Campbell didn’t stop there as he picked up another recruit for the class of 2019 today.

Darien Porter, a wide receiver from Bettendorf High School in Bettendorf, Iowa, has committed to Iowa State via Twitter this morning. Porter is the fourth recruit to commit to the Cyclones in the class of 2019 as Maurice Massey and D’Shayne James committed on Dec. 19 and Jake Remsburg committed on Dec. 11.

Porter is ranked fifth in the state of Iowa and 91st nationally in the wide receiver position, according to 247Sports Composite. He also caught four touchdowns with 251 receiving yards, but also ran the ball in for a touchdown and 113 rushing yards.

Iowa State was Porter’s one and only offer during the early part of his recruitment process, but he only needed that one offer.

After thanking his family, Bettendorf coaches and, finally, Matt Campbell in his statement on Twitter, Porter finished it by saying, “I’m very excited to be a Cyclone!”
