On Selection Sunday, the Iowa State football team was selected for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee. The bowl is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 30 at 11:30 a.m.

Joining the Cyclones in Memphis is the Memphis Tigers. The Tigers went 10-2 during the 2017 season with notable wins over then-No. 25 UCLA, then-No. 24 Navy and lost in the AAC Championship in double overtime to then-No. 14 Central Florida.

The Cyclones became bowl eligible after knocking off then-No. 4 TCU 14-7 at Jack Trice Stadium. The win capped off an October that saw the Cyclones beat then-No. 3 Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas Tech.

Iowa State, Ohio State and Auburn are the only three schools to defeat two top-five teams in the 2017 season. The Cyclones and Tigers were the only two of the three to do so in the regular season.

Ticket information will be released later today.
