Iowa State, SDSU tie in soccer

The Iowa State Soccer team faced off against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits on the road Friday night, but neither team put a ball in the back of the net.

The two teams finished the night tied after 90 minutes of regulation and two 10-minute halves of overtime.

Fifteen minutes into the game, the Jackrabbits had the best chance in regulation at a goal, but the ball hit the crossbar, keeping the game tied.

The team’s went into the half with a 0-0 score, but Iowa State was the aggressor, landing six shots on goal compared to SDSU’s three.

Over the rest of the game, both goalies, including Iowa State freshman Dayja Schwichtenberg, played lights out and didn’t allow a single goal.

The team returns home after a four game road trip to take on the Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos on Sunday afternoon at the Cyclone Sports Complex. The game kicks off at 1 p.m.
