Iowa State soccer downed 2-0 by Missouri

The Iowa State soccer team was downed 2-0 on Sunday afternoon by the Missouri Tigers, dropping to 1-1 on the young 2017 season.

The teams went scoreless in the first half, despite Iowa State fielding multiple chances.

The team had six shots on goal in the first half, and two in the first five minutes, but were unable to convert on opportunities. 

In the second half, it was all Tigers.

The Tigers scored their first goal of the half right off the bat, as Savannah Trujillo tallied in the 51st minute.

Shortly after, Sarah Luebbert scored in the 55th minute to put the Tigers up 2-0.

Iowa State was unable to score for the rest of the game, losing their first match of the year.

The team’s next game will be at Iowa on Friday night. It will start at 7:00 p.m.
