The Hilton Magic Legends continued where they left off in college on Saturday as they defeated the Illinois Hoopville Warriors 91-87 in the first round of The Basketball Tournament (TBT).

The team found themselves down by as many as 10 points early in the game, visibly trying to feel out the play of each other and figure out some chemistry.

Once the chemistry clicked, the Legends picked up the pace.

Darrell Bowie made a three. Then Curtis Stinson made one, and Bowie hit another.

Illinois took a timeout to try to stop the Legends momentum.

After a miss, Bubu Palo kept the team hot and made another three.

The Legends ended the half on a 16-0 run to take a 49-32 lead at Halftime.

The team shot 11-for-22 in the first half to mount the 17-point lead, but it was quickly erased as they started the second shooting 0-for-6 along with the lead being trimmed to single digits.

Illinois would nearly make a comeback, having the ball down by two with under 30 seconds to play, but Hilton Magic would prevail.

The Legends earned the four-point win behind Diante Garrett’s 30-point performance.

They will return to the court tomorrow at 11 a.m. to face Kansas State University alumni in the round of 32. The game will be live-streamed by WatchESPN.
