Personal records continued to pour in for the Iowa State women’s track and field over the weekend, as sophomore Emma Whigham recorded two personal bests at the Jim Click Shootout Multi’s in Tucson, Arizona.

Whigham finished fourth in the heptathlon at the meet, recording a career-high 5,175 points, which moves her to third all-time in the Iowa State record book. After starting the day with a personal record in the long jump, 18 feet 3.5 inches, she knocked six seconds off her previous best in the 800-meter run to conclude the event, crossing the finish line in 2 minutes and 16.47 seconds.

At the Sun Angel Classic, junior Jhoanmy Luque made her outdoor debut, finishing fourth in both the long jump (19-7 3/4) and triple jump (41-9 3/4) Saturday in Tempe, Arizona.

Teammate and fellow long jumper Allanah McCorkle added another top-five finish for Iowa State, leaping 19-7 1/4 in the long jump.

The Cyclones will be back in action next weekend at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California.
