PHOTOS: Faces of Iowa State

Rose Frantzen, a native of Maquoketa, Iowa, is known for her yearlong project called Portraits of Maquoketa where she invited anyone from her hometown to sit and be painted. The project ended up including 180 portraits that were all shown at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC in 2005.  

Iowa artist Rose Frantzen began her series “Faces of Iowa State” by painting Warren Kuhn, Emeritus professor and retired Dean of Library Services March 29.
