Jhoanmy Luque’s indoor track and field season keeps getting better.

The junior earned the Big 12 Women’s Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Year award Thursday.

She is now the second Iowa State women’s track and field athlete to ever win the award, with distance runner Betsy Saina winning it in 2012 and 2013.

Luque was the leading point scorer at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championship on Feb. 24 and 25 after recording 20 points with titles in the long jump and triple jump.

She will represent the Cyclones in both events at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 10 and 11 in College Station, Texas.
