The Iowa State women’s track and field team picked up five event wins in its first outdoor meet this weekend at the Tulsa Duels in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Senior thrower Ariana Kuhn led off Friday with a win in the weight throw, setting a personal record with a 196-8 mark and moving to third all-time in Iowa State history for the event.

Senior Allanah McCorkle finished first in the long jump in her Iowa State debut, recording a leading leap of 19-11 1/2 and leading a 1-2-3 sweep for the Cyclones. Carsyn Spurgeon and Tasha Frazier finished second and third, respectively.

The three other Cyclones to record event wins over the weekend included Emma Whigham in the 400-meter dash, Bethanie Brown in the 1,500-meter run and Tasha Frazier in the 100-meter hurdles.

The Cyclones will be back in action on March 31 at the Stanford Invitational and the San Francisco State Distance Carinval.
