Men’s golf leads three-headed race for NIT in Arizona.

After a strong showing in the first two rounds, the Iowa State men’s golf team finds itself in first place with a score of 549 (274-275).

Coming strong from the start, the Cyclones did not have any trouble finding an early lead and carrying it into the second day of the competition.

By the end of just the first two rounds, all five starters were within the top 25 individual spots of the competition.

Nick Voke is currently tied for first place and placing the Cyclones in first place with his score of 134 (66-38). He ended the day with 11 birdies and one eagle. He now has 34 career rounds in the 60’s.

Trailing just behind him, but still at a high mark is Denzel Ieremia who is tied for fourth place, and scored 135 (68-67) after firing 13 birdies on the day.

Freshman Tripp Kinney ended the day just one over the par, but still enough to be tied for 14th place. His score from the first two rounds is a 141 (69-74).

Both freshman Sam Vincent (69-74), and redshirt junior Ruben Sondjaja (71-72) are currently tied for 22th place, with both having a score of 143 and being just one stroke over par.

The Cyclones are currently just one stroke ahead of Arizona State (550) and just six over third place UNLV (555).
