Absentee voting for June 7 primary election set

Absentee voting for the June 7, 2016 Story County primary election will began on Thursday.

All eligible voters in Story County can vote at the Auditor’s Office starting Thursday, April 28, according to the press release from the Auditor’s Office.

The Auditor’s Office, located on the second floor of the Story County Administration Building in Nevada, will be open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, June 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

June 3 is the deadline to request a mailed absentee ballot. The last day to vote absentee in-person is June 6, and mailed ballots must be postmarked for no later than this day to be considered.

Voter pre-registration is set for May 27.

Election Day is June 7; polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at regular polling places.

A mailed absentee ballot can be requested by filling out the “Official Iowa Absentee Ballot Request Form,” available online at www.storycountyiowa.gov/auditor.
