U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, is accusing his primary opponent, state Sen. Rick Bertrand, R-Sioux City, of being funded by big donors who want to buy a Congressman.

Candidates must raise a decent amount of money in order to win reelection, so here is how much King raised each election since 2002, when he was first elected.

2014 vs. Jim Mowrer: $2,000,377

2012 vs. Christie Vilsack: $3,753,859

2010 vs. Matthew Campbell: $1,015,039

2008 vs. Rob Hubler: $1,023,904

2006 vs. Joyce Schulte: $612,291

2004 vs. Joyce Schulte: $539,970

2002 vs. Paul Shomshor: $649,230

In each cycle, King spent roughly the same amount raised — although it varies each year, with him spending less some years and more in others.
