The wait is over and Iowa State now knows where its journey through March Madness begins.

The NCAA Championship Selection Show announced Iowa State will be a 4-seed and play out of the Denver, Colorado site. Iowa State’s first-round matchup will be against Iona, a 13-seed.

Iona is 22-10 this season and won the MAAC tournament to receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

If Iowa State advances past the first round, it would face the winner of Purdue and Little Rock in the round of 32.

The selection means Iowa State will play in a school-record five straight NCAA tournaments.
