ISU women’s shot putter Christina Hillman placed fourth at the NCAA Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

A scoring error had Hillman in 12th place after her first three throws, leaving her out of the finals for the event.

It was later discovered that her first throw, which was originally recorded as a foul, was legal, and traveled 56 feet 9.75 inches.

The mark helped her qualify as one of nine shot putters for the finals.

Hillman’s farthest throw in the finals reached 57 feet 10.25 inches, placing her fourth overall.

Kansas State’s Dani Winters won the title with a mark of 58 feet 11.50 inches.
