Senior Georges Niang struggled to control his emotions and fought back tears as he and his fellow seniors were honored before the Oklahoma State game on Monday night.

Iowa State (21-7, 10-7 Big 12) was sluggish for most of the first half, but the Cyclones were finally able to reign in the emotions and got the job done against Oklahoma State (12-18, 3-14 Big 12) on senior night, winning 58-50.

Redshirt senior Abdel Nader and Niang combined for 20 of Iowa State’s 27 first-half points, but an Oklahoma State 3-pointer at the buzzer sent Iowa State into the locker room clinging to a 27-25 lead.

The Cyclones came out firing in the second half, scoring the first nine points of the half to take a 13-point lead and putting Iowa State in control for the remainder of the game. Oklahoma State made it interesting down the stretch, but Iowa State held on.

A little while later, Georges Niang, Abdel Nader and Jameel McKay all walked off the court at Hilton Coliseum for the final time, and did so with a win.
