The first period of the second game of the weekend between Cyclone Hockey and the Robert Morris University Eagles started off quietly.

But the game ended with excitement with Tony Uglem scoring the game winner with under two minutes left to give the Cyclones the 3-2 win.

Both the Eagles and the Cyclones had power play opportunities, but the first period finished scoreless.

Much like the night before, the Eagles were the first to get on the board. 1:02 into the second period Gavin Burbach sent the puck behind Cyclone Hockey goaltender Derek Moser off a feed from Jake Floro.

The Cyclones were quick to answer back, two minutes later, Cyclone Hockey forward Trevor Sabo was able to even the score at 1 at the 3:51 mark.

Less than three minutes later, Jon Severson sent the Cyclones above the Eagles making the score 2-1.

The rest of the period continued conservatively until Zack Johnson was sent to the box with 23.4 left in the period on a high sticking penalty.

With the Cyclones entering the third period on a penalty kill it gave the Eagles the man advantage. They took it as Derek Diaz tied the game at two, 1:01 into the third.

Both teams were stopped as goaltenders from each side stood strong.

It wasn’t until the last minutes of the game that the winner was decided. With 1:45 left in regulation, Uglem buried a rebound making it 3-2.

The Cyclones finish the weekend off with a sweep and looks to continue their momentum on the road as they head to Lindenwood for a two-game-series next weekend.
