ISU women’s golf tied for 7th after one round at Lady Puerto Rico Classic

The Cyclones finished on Sunday with a first round score of 294 (+5). A score that is good enough to have them tied for 7th place on the team leader-board along with Louisville.

Iowa State is currently sitting 10 strokes behind the tournament leaders Georgia and Texas Tech both shooting rounds of 283 (-5).

The Cyclones were led by senior Cajsa Persson and sophomore Celia Barquin who shot scores of 71 (-1) and 73 (+1) respectively. Cajsa sits tied for 6th on the individual leaderboard and Barquin is tied for 20th.

The top two overall performers of the first round were Texas Tech sophomore Gabby Barker who is in 1st place with a score of 66 (-6), and NC State senior Rachael Taylor who is in 2nd with a score of 67 (-5).
