Jameel McKay gets fouled while attempting a dunk against Kansas State on Jan. 16, 2016 at the Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kan. The Cyclones won the game 76-63, snapping a two-game losing streak.

Chris Wolff and Ryan Young

There’s going to be a new No. 1 in the country and a No. 1 in the Big 12. Oklahoma is widely expected to be No. 1 when this week’s polls are released on Monday.

West Virginia took care of last week’s No. 1 Kansas, but couldn’t beat No. 2 Oklahoma, meaning Oklahoma is likely to slide up to that top slot in the country.

Ryan successfully predicted West Virginia’s upset win and went 7-3 this week, and currently sits at 19-6 on his picks overall this week. Chris went 8-2 this week and is also 19-6 on the year.

This week will get started with a huge game, when the new No. 1 Oklahoma comes to town for a Big Monday matchup with Iowa State. Here are our picks:

Jan. 18

Texas Tech at TCU

Chris: I’m much more focused on the other Big 12 game on this day, but I’ll go with the Red Raiders here.

Ryan: I’m with Chris. Texas Tech will take this one fairly easily.

Oklahoma at Iowa State

Chris: Iowa State is 1-17 against No. 1 teams, with the lone win coming in 1957. Ryan predicted No. 1 Kansas losing last week so I’m taking my shot this week. Iowa State upsets No. 1 Oklahoma on its first day as the No. 1 team.

Ryan: While I think Iowa State could beat the Sooners at home, I just don’t see it happening. It’ll be a very close game, but there is a reason that Oklahoma is the No. 1 team in the country. Oklahoma wins here.

Jan. 19

Kansas at Oklahoma State

Chris: After suffering its first conference loss of the season last week, Kansas will be sure to end this one before it even starts.

Ryan: Kansas won’t stumble here, and will get back on track as one of the conferences best teams.

Jan. 20

Texas at West Virginia

Chris: Both teams scored wins against ranked opponents last week, but West Virginia is in another class. They proved that last week by beating Kansas, and they keep on keeping on here.

Ryan: If this were in Austin, I would say it’s a different story. But because its in West Virginia, I think the Mountaineers will continue to prove that they belong in the conference championship talks and will win this one.

Kansas State at Baylor

Chris: I’ll take Baylor at home in this one.

Ryan: Yep, me too. Baylor will run away with this one.

Jan. 23

Oklahoma at Baylor

Chris: I think Baylor will put up a fight, but Oklahoma gets back on track after Iowa State upset them earlier in the week.

Ryan: After beating Iowa State earlier in the week, the Sooners will stumble here at Baylor, making the conference race that much more exciting.

West Virginia at Texas Tech

Chris: West Virginia keeps on winning.

Ryan: Same. WVU will take care of things here.

Texas at Kansas

Chris: Kansas is essentially an automatic pick at home. I’ll stick with that.

Ryan: Kansas won’t lose at home to Texas. They don’t lose at home to anybody.

Iowa State at TCU

Chris: Iowa State is back on the winning track now and the Cyclones won’t mess that up here.

Ryan: The Cyclones will handle this one, setting them up for another great matchup with Kansas next week.

Oklahoma State at Kansas State

Chris: Kansas State takes care of business in the Octagon of Doom.

Ryan: Kansas State will win this one. I was impressed with what I saw when they played Iowa State, and I believe they can handle the Cowboys here.
