After nail-biters in its past two games, Iowa State made quick work of Coppin State to round out the non-conference portion of its schedule.

No. 11 Iowa State (11-1) was all over Coppin State (2-13) from the beginning, starting off on a 12-0 run and leading by as many as 23 in the first half. The Cyclones never relinquished the large lead and took the game, 104-84.

The Cyclones previous two games both ended in dramatic fashion as Northern Iowa topped the Cyclones 81-79 and Iowa State outlasted Cincinatti by the same score last time out.

Iowa State made sure there would be no late-game drama this time around, as the Cyclones put the game out of reach shortly after in began.

Monté Morris had the Iowa State offense rolling as he dished out 10 assists in the first half alone. Iowa State found success pushing the pace as the Eagles were unable to keep up with Iowa State’s fast-paced attack.

The Cyclones scored 19 fast-break points in the first half as Iowa State racked up a 49-33 halftime lead.

ISU coach Steve Prohm went to his bench at the 12-minute mark in the second half, getting Simeon Carter and Jordan Ashton some extended action ahead of Big 12 play. Iowa State’s lead was never threatened in the second half, as the Cyclones rolled to a large victory.

Iowa State now goes into Big 12 play, where it will square off against No. 3 Oklahoma on the road Saturday.
