Two Cyclones doing fine following hip surgeries

Both Naz Mitrou-Long and Hallice Cooke are coming into this season after undergoing hip surgery within the past year.

Cooke has been cleared for quite some time after going under the knife about a year ago, but Mitrou-Long, who didn’t have surgery until after last season’s conclusion, has only been cleared for a couple weeks and has been off-and-on in practice.

Both appear to be doing just fine coming off of their respective surgeries.

In Iowa State’s 106-60 exhibition win against Grand Valley State, the sharpshooting duo combined for 32 points and shot 10-11 from behind thee 3-point arc.

Mitrou-Long lead the Cyclones in scoring with 20 points and hit on six of his seven 3-pointers. Cooke came off the bench and poured in 12 points on four of five shooting from beyond the arc.

It looks like those hips are just fine.
