The ISU tennis team overcame a rough start to finish strong at day two of the Drake Jamboree. The Cyclones were riding some momentum from the previous day, but came out flat to start singles play.

The Cyclones dropped three early games to get into a 0-3 hole but rallied with four straight wins.

Seniors Anna Kuuttila and Alejandra Galvis started the trend with 6-4, 6-3 and 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 wins, respectively. They were followed with back-to-back victories from freshmen Liza Buss and Claudia Toledo to bring their singles record to 4-3 for the day and 9-5 on the tournament.

The team found its stride when doubles play opened later in the afternoon. The tandems of Budai/Buss and Kuuttila/Pronina each went 2-0 en route to a 5-2 doubles record for the team. Budai/Buss continued their tournament hot streak by moving to 4-0 on the weekend with two convincing wins.

The Cyclones will finish up the tournament at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Roger Knapp Center.
