A look at how Iowa State has fared against defending champions LSU in recent years

The ISU men’s golf team will travel to Baton Rouge, La., for the David Toms Intercollegiate on Oct. 10 and 11.

Headlining the field of 14 teams is host Louisiana State. The Tigers are the defending national champions from 2014-2015, though three starters from that championship squad has graduated.

In recent years, Iowa State has fared relatively equally to LSU in events against one another. Below is a look at how the two have stacked up in the previous two seasons:

2013-2014:

– David Toms Intercollegiate: LSU tied for seventh place with a 30-over-par total of 894. Iowa State took second place with a score of 876 for a 12-over-par total.

– Columbia NCAA regional: Both tied for fourth place to earn the final two berths to the NCAA Championship. Both finished with a 15-under-par total of 849.

2014-2015:

– David Toms Intercollegiate: LSU won the team title with a 21-over-par score of 891. Iowa State shared eighth place after posting a 55-over-par score of 919.
