ISU Major Fair brings opportunities to students

Students who are registered as open-option majors or those who are wishing to change their majors have an opportunity to see most of the majors offered at Iowa State in one space.

The ISU Major Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union.

More than 100 majors will be represented to answer questions and help students who attend the event hosted by Student Counseling Services.

About 20 percent of students start at Iowa State without a major, according to the ISU open-option website. Of that 20 percent, half select a major before their second year. About 90 percent of the original open-option students choose a major before their third semester.
